Turbo Smoke?

Hi all,

When I thrash my Z I get a puff of black smoke initially when I put my foot down, then it's all clear. Is this serious or just a normal occurence?

Cheers

If its happened once and not happened again its could just be crap in the exhaust, if hte car has been used properly for a while.

Done drive it for a day and start it up. If you get blue smoke then your turbo seals are going.

Mark,

I am having the same problem at the moment but I am told that I am just running rich, black smoke is fuel (so I am told).

Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce... (sorry no sound!) LOL

I know when I put injector cleaner in to my car, I put my foot down after I did 150 miles with it in and a huge cloud of crap came out, and never did it again

if its black smoke then your more than likely running rich.

And the saying goes "you can run rich a thousand times, but you can only run lean once " biggrin.gif
