My zed is due an mot next week and I know of a few things wrong that im getting round to fixing.

The car produces some smoke on idle from the left bank, its whiteish and since using datascan my left o2 sensor appears a little lazy so im guessing it might be this causing it. As soon as you drive the car with some throttle applied the smoke increases slightly then stops completly even when booting hard in all gears or idling along whilst driving.

Also, ive got some front brake type squeeking which is either a warped disc (most likely) or a wheel bearing (trying to confirm which).

My rear diff oil cooler is leaking slightly and ive had no time to disconnect it, im guessing this isnt an MOT fail point?

Finally, the sills look like they have seen better days. I had the passenger rear sill replaced and repsrayed recently but the drivers rear one is slightly rusty underneth ,and has caused some slight bubbling of the paint on the rear wheel arch (rust!) .

Are any of these mot failures? Ive got around £450 available this month for zed repairs, but clearly not enough to fix all these things! Would you guys just put it in for the mot and see what happens, then fix whats needed to get it though ? (thinking £450 should cover most mot issues!) or get some stuff done first?

Thanks all, andy

And just reading this back, makes my zed sound like a neglected nail! She isnt, but the guy i brought her off didnt look after her well at all, and im getting round to fixing all the things that need doing.

the squeaking brakes not a fail but if brakes are siezing on then they would fail.they would show up on rollers. the smoke should be ok aslong as it passes emisions.the sills should be ok aslong as theres no holes in them.they should tap with proper mot tool.the cooler leak is okay aslong as its not leaking over brakes..

Thanks, should be ok then! No idea how the emissions will go, although think they have to test it warm anyways so that should help!
