Engine Flush

Thinking of putting this stuff in before an oil change.

Will it do any harm?? I've noticed an increase in oil consumption so I'm hoping it may help.

I always use it, no problems just helps get rid of the excess grunge!

Cheers Big Man,

I'll have a go this Friday.

George,

There are conflicting views on the use of engine flush.

In summation: It depends on the state of your engine, If you are running a high milage car or one that may have not always been serviced regularly then the use of engine flush may disturb deposits that can then, potentially, block oil ways or sludge up lifters.

My advise would be to find the cause of the increased oil consumption, do a compression test, is it going down the exhaust etc. Scrub round the engine flush.

IMHO the use of flush may cause you even more headaches that it cures.

Tim,

Thanks mate for the warning.

Its a good point, I'll look into the compression testing to start with.
