Got them from Luke. Originally only oded the windscreen and roof ones, but when they turned up, it really showed how bad the targa ones were as well, so i orded them also.

From Luke,

Fronts are £27 (each)

Rear is £23.50

As for fitting, a piece of cake!!! The overall effect is much better, well if yours are all faded and showing chrome through like mine were anyway.

Nice one Dave!!! Mine are down to the chrome now and are looking shit so gonna get them replaced!!!

Yep mine is showing crome now. Where would I get new wiper arms from?

Wiper arms are held on by one nut. Remove the nut and the arms come off you can then paint them and save yourself some money. !!

(Apart from mine are seized on the spindles good and proper !!)

Well after a long day of not getting much done (except my trip in a 350 Gran Tourismo :D ) I managed to fit the two little roof trims!

As for the link I posted earlier I found that there is a different way to fit these roof trims!! I'll try to explain...................

Remove old trim, by pushing the right hand one forwards, and the left hand one rearwards.

Now fit new white clips. These clips have a movable section on them, these slide (click/ratchet) sideways. They also have two little bits that stick out sideways on the movable section.

Righthand ones fit so that they push rearwards, with the movable section, part with two little sticky-out bits, pushed to the outside of the car.

Now comes the tricky bit...... The trim fits into the inner side of the two clips, and then lower the outer side of the trim down towards the outer part of the clip, and press down with all your mite until you hear a 'Click' sound. The trim should now be clipped into place, you can adjust the forward/backward position if required.

The left hand trim fits the same way, except that the clips slide in the other way round, so that the two little sticky-out- bits are still on the outside on the car (if that makes sense)

I'll try to get some pics of the clips to show what i mean later.

I hope that is of help to someone.

Cleaning / fixing the car for japshow

I'm not often moved to pass comment on other peoples Zeds since as long as they enjoy them it really doesn't matter what state they're in, however I have to say I think yours is one of the nicest "stock" looking cars on here Dave. Your attention to detail has made it really stand out. Not entirley sure I'd go for chromed OEM wheels, I'd probably go for a very subtle 16" (possibly 17") single or split rim (something Strosek-ish maybe?) that doesn't swamp the rest of the car but is in harmony with it but that's only my opinion! ;)

Nice work :)

Thanks Leigh, appreciated mate :duffer:

I did this to one of my 2.8i Capris as well, I bought it with a full body kit on and one of those 'Cosworth' Whale tails on it :D As it was an original '81 model (first year of production) I eventually returned it to it's original factory condition, ie; proper paintwork, stripes and decals, OEM fogs and some OEM body panels. I even got hold of the RECARO badges for the seats. It was mint and original when I'd finished. Although I'm going slightly down a differant route here, I'm trying to do the same thing :D I love doing it.

BTW Leigh, hows yours coming along?

Picked up the pump, tank and pulley from PACE last week so everthing for the V8 is now here bar the manifolds which are being made up by Leon at Alunox as we speak. Things are finally coming together on the build which is good :) Bodywork is going very well, the front arches and bumper are finished, and the rear arches are on and shaped but we need to finalise the plans for the skirts (been through several changes...the Stillen Type III's are long gone...now going for totally custom on that front) and the rear bumper (again, it's been through some changes, but we may get a little more radical with it ;)). All in all, it's progressing nicely thanks mate! :)

All the new trims are fitted in time for tomorrow.

A bit of a pain to fit the windscreen ones, buy they eventually went in place OK. The passenger side targa top trim went in a doddle, but I had a rusted screw in the drivers side one, which caused a bit of a problem!

Anyway all done now, along with the fitting of a complete new scuttle the other weekend and all three wiper arms she's looking mighty fine at the moment

Outside appearance is looking almost complete, just got to get some new swag-line tape made up. Oh and my wheels sorted out.
