Ello guys

 

Just getting round to finishing my SLI rig n was wondering about watercooling .. esp when i start pushing it hard .. as i dont fancy this crashing too often.. give you the spec as i know a lot of you guys are IT techs .. might steer me in the right direction

 

Athlon64 x2 4800

Asus A8N32- SLI Deluxe mobo

4gb Corsair 3500LL ddr memory

150gb raptorX main drive

2no 300gb maxtor sata drives

2no Asus 7600GT pci-e graphics cards

SB Audigy platinum card n front panel

 

some help would be great guys

Not worth the hassle tbh, have had watercooling & phase change. Phase change as lot less hassle & far better performance. I'd just get a shit hot HS & fan over water any day now.

Jay the prob ive had is finding a decent heatsink n fan.. dont trust these heatpipe things

I was gonna go watercooling, but just seemed like too much hassel.

I never had any probs with fans and heatsinks and used to overclock lots!

Off the shelf watercooling's main advantage is for low noise. Phase change is better for overclocking but noisy as fook! Neither are anything like as intrusive as a big heatsink with a high rpm fan on though :wack:

If you're running stock then tbh I agree with what he said with the added thought. If you want to stop it crashing in summer get a portable air con unit then you get the benifits of better cooling as well :D

im not gonna overclock .. i think the setup is fast enough for what i'll use it for .. just need a decent cooler .. done my research on the parts but cant find anything on cooling
