i have an intermittent tinny rattle coming from the drivers side front wheel arch it sounds like a heat shield is loose but every time i jack the car up and take the wheel off then start it up i aint doing it.

i've checked the brake backing plates and it aint that.

any suggestions would be much appreciated Cheers guys.

forgot to mention, when i rest my foot over the accelorator (only just touching it ) the rattle goes away.

something is vibrating. Can you get it to do it with the car stationary or only while driving. Wondering if a certain engine frequency/rpm is causing something to vibrate or if its due to the motion of the car, suspension etc.

yeah i can only hear it with the car stood still i'm gonna get it on a ramp at work on saturday and see if i can have a proper look cos i'm doing MOT prep cos its due.

This is commonly caused by lose heat shield on the exhaust. When the exhaust warms up, the rattle often stops owing to the heat expansion...

Hope you find it!
