My Z started running in safety boost last night. Was running fine beforehand. No funny noises, no detonation sounds. Nothing seemed wrong after safety boost kicked in either.

 

Any ideas? Quick fixes?

Could be a faulty det sensor.....

You can get code 55 off Ecu and still be in saftey mode- I know because ive had it!

can be caused by faulty temp sender-thinking its temperature is cooler than it reallly is therfore changing timing and saftey mode kicks in

Probably a det sensor problem, check if you have code 34. If not then its either real detonation or temp sensor.

It's that time of year again!!! Z'eds in safety boost everywhere!!! A lot of det sensors fail cause there about 12 years old+ so get the sensor replaced... Costly but well worth it and you won't be detting in summer or hot weather again or just do the "Legrath Quick Fix!" :D

What does safety boost run at? Is it 0.3 bar?
