having just spoken to a couple of nissan dealers.... (trying to source alternator bearings...)

 

they reckon they have to be ordered from Japan - and it takes about 3 weeks and costs £48

 

i dont think i can have the car off the road for 3 weeks... thats just ridiculous... does anyone know where else i can try for these bearing things..

...have you an auto eletrician close by? My local auto electrician seems to be able to get bits really quickly - next day normally. If ever I buy from Nissan I have to stand at a parts counter for half a day ringing a bell - till someone turns up.

Yup, Mike's very good. Had a last minute order with him last week for bearing shells, a roller, and wiring harness.....well, the engine this week is now in the car and running!
