ha, exactly! what for?

How?????

Yep, well not ripped off but having problems from an awqward buyer. Dealing with a dispute at the moment.

He just wont give in and nor will I!

The buyer desperatly wanted a discount as he thought the price he bid was too much, even though the car was in superb condition. I refused to give him a discount, so he looked at the car for ages hoping to find a fault to get a discount but he didnt find anything wrong!

He reported me to Ebay over a week later, stating that he has found 2 faults, which is a lie, hoping Ebay will get me to give him some money back!

Ebay suspended my account. However, with the appropriate evidence, Ebay have re-activated my account. The bloke is very angry at this and is keep emailing me!

See thread

forward the emails to his isp also if the emails are coming from his ebay accy messager then forward to ebay also.

I had an issue with a buyer. He bought a rather good tape drive from me, eventually paid after a lot of hassle. I then posted the item via RM and got a proof of postage and he denied ever getting it. Reported me and gave me neg feedback. T**ser...

I wouldn't mind but ripping someone off is not my thing...

Yep, I sent Ebay the emails, this was the main source of my evidence

Seller had loads of +ive feedback (100% positive). Sent cheque. He cashed it but never sent the item (Hi -end Hi-fi DAC). Gone through dispute all the way to a claim, but as I paid by cheque, I only get £105 off ebay compensation.

I'm kicking myself I didn't insist on cash on collection. Anyway, I'm visiting him tomrrow evening ! :mac1: Just hope he hasn't moved house.

I have 100% +ive feedback so far. I've contacted other buyers, and he's done similar with several items. Ripped off about 4 people to the tune of ~£2000.

Paypal buyer protection only goes up to £500, so items above this - beware !

There is always the possibility that it got lost in the post but if he's done it to 4 other people sounds unlikely! I hope you get it all sorted bud!

He didn't claim he sent it, only that he would. Last email from him was a week ago. ... It's a large DAC weighing over 20kg. If sent by courier he would have proof of posting. I wonder if he's emigrating or something. Sneaky ****.

He could be telling the truth? I hope he is and that you get it sorted!

I would imagine 20kg will be expensive to post

You could arrange collection yourself, ive done that before when you arrange a courier to pick item from their house, or if they're not too far away, pick it up yourself!?

I'm going tomorrow after work (~80 miles there). I he has it I'll take it (or collect refund). If he says he's posted it, I'll demand proof.

He cashed my cheque on 1/6/06, then emailed 12/6/06 with no reason for delay other than "unforseen circumstances" and no emails since. He uses a hotmail account, phone no. on ebay doesn't work, I cannot trace him at that address via internet, other buyers have experienced the same. His large volume of +ive feedback shows he knows how eaby works. Can't believe he is not dodgy.

At least he's agreed to let you come to his house and you know you have the correct address as you posted your cheque there.

He hasn't agree to me coming. I've told him I'm coming, BUT funnily enough he has just emailed....

No excuses, i now have the dac in my possession, i have split with my now x

wife who has made it impossible for me to get the dac to post to you. Will

you accept delivery on wednesday? Please accept my humble appologies, Paul

Thompson.

I've said I'm coming to collect, but he hasn't replied yet (probably won't based on past experience). One email a week seems all he is capable of ! He may still be trying to stall me before he moves, so I'm still going to see him tomorrow just in case.

He could have told me about his wife before.

Hmmm, does sound like excuses. Perhaps if he doesnt have it when you travel to his house tomorrow, push for a refund! Take a friend with you though incase things get nasty!

Can't believe it ! - he just gave me his phone number. Just phoned him and have agreed to pick up the item tomorrow.

What a relief ! Sounded OK - not like a dodgy geezer - just must be a daft, dozy sod ?

i presume you feel more vunerable online as it is just word on a screen and the buyer could be 100's of miles away.

hop you get it sorted tomorrow buddy

Thanks. Will not buy such expensive things off ebay again - unless I do cash on collection/delivery. This has taught me to be more careful in future. Assuming all goes well tomorrow, will be so relieved because I have found ebay really good for bargains etc. Losing >£600 would have left a bitter taste in the mouth.

Yes im disputing £87 atm. I payed for a laptop off a guy and it just hasnt arrived! he claimed that it was sent 2nd jun and that royal mail must have lost it! Either way i want my damn money back and if the paypal dispute doesnt work i will paying him a visit to get my £87 back. Not a huge amount of cash but its the damn principle of it, ebay used to be more like a forum attitude with no worrys, but some people just want to take advantage! Take them all down IMHO

ime on the wirral nelson old chum,pm me iff you need a frustrated with life grumpy fvcker who could do with a workout :D

Even cash on collection can seem a bit dodgy. I recently handed over a large wad of US dollars for my car. I was expecting the seller to produce a gun when we were counting the money over the boot of an old Mustang in a seedy underground car park in Queens FFS . I'm glad to say it's finally made it here. Hope he produces it for you tomorrow mate, don't forget the gun :D .

Thanks for the offer -sounds like me though !

He sounded like an older(40s) guy, and don't think there will be any hassle now. He was very remorseful and has just split up with his now ex-wife.

Cheers,

Dave.
