A little long winded, but here is why I am a VERY proud dad today...

My daughter is 12, and lives with her mum, 2 years ago, she was in a car accident and suffered damage to her back, now it's not a very serious complaint, but it does give her a LOT of pain, and walking for long times, results in a lot of pain.

She came to my house dinner time today, to give me a fathers day card and gift.

She was dressed in a track suit, and had a number on her front, and my uncles name on her back.

Some of you may recall, that a couple of months ago, my uncle died from cancer 12 weeks after being diagnosed.

My daughter had done a sponsored walk of 5 kilometers in memory of my uncle to raise money for cancer research. despite knowing it would put her in a lot of pain today, she did it anyway......

She didnt raise a lot of money, but what she did raise is more than they had i guess, but she made me the proudest dad on the planet today.

Good for her- it's admirable when people say bollux to something that causes them personal pain and do something for a greater good. More so for you as it's so personal.

What a brave young lady.

It 's so nice to be able to say a teenager (almost) has done good and not acted like a chav, even better that she is my daughter

Dude, as said earlier, what a true trooper, top class kiddy from a top class bloke!!

Donation in post

sent it by Paypal, glad to see a teenager with a bit of get up and go, myself have got a 18 year old with a passion for his bed lol

Thank you Yami & Chunk, donations both recieved

i will get some details and ask Sophie (my daughter) to thank you both by e mail

thank you

Hey mate, Sophie sounds like a credit to her parents.

I think that there is good in all people, it just needs to be allowed to show and she has shown that she is a careing person.

Good on her.

thanks guys for all the comments.

i told her this morning about the extra donation she has had, and she cant believe it.

she is off school today with a bad back from the walk, but she is ok, and the smile is worth it she says

Thats great mate. What a cracking daughter you have, you sound well proud as I would be to. My sister got hit by a car whilst on a zebra crossing when she was younger (the driver threatened to sue due to his bent car !!! until my Glaswegian Dad went round and had a 'word'). She suffers terribly from it and is always in pain, so I can imagine how your daughter must be felling after doing the walk. Tell her we're all very proud as well.

Dave and Alicia

Restores the faith that the younger generation have some hope when someone as kind and determined as your daughter does something like that. Well done!

the generosity in this club is next to none guys, her sponsorship is looking a lot better now, and she is chuffed to bits...

thank you all guys and girls, she is made up

You should be very proud.............its a great achievement

Nice to hear stuff like this after all the bad stuff that happens in this day and age
