Is 1/4mile time better with traction control?

I'd say that a stock TT can run about 14":can a traction control system make this time much better?

What's the best time for a stage 3(400 hp)?

TC will make you run slower down the 1/4 mile.

TC effectivly cuts the ammount of boost you recieve and will slow you down.

DUFFMAN went at santapod faster with the tc turned off.

Mabey using launch controll and not tc might help.

If you can get maximum grip from the start no TC is better, or having TC but it not being used.

But TC is used when the wheels start slipping and the power is cut slightly to stop it.

If you start wheel spinning, TC will stop the spin quicker than a driver can, but it means you have stepped over the limit and you have lost some acceleration. Even if its only for 1/100th of a second. Its 1/100th of a second where you are slowing down cos of the TC where you could be accelerating.

If you are shit at pulling off and always wheel spin it, TC will help. If you can get a perfect pull from the start, firstly it would be faster and if you had TC it would do anything cos there is no wheel spin

Have been thinking about this ever since the Top Speed Challenge I attended in my manky 200sx (14.56 1/4 Mile).

What about a programmable boost curve whare you get low boost in 1st & 2nd with high boost for other gears. If tuned right you may not get wheelspin, but get full boost whare it's required.

Can you program the AVCR this way?

With launch control and appropriate slip settings you're gonna get pretty close to ideal I reckon. It would take someone with a lot of skill and practice to better it.

Well as we saw with duffs car, his trap speed was much lower with the tc on, but i guess you could just use something like the id metre which maps boost to speed.

Duffman did have me off the line time afetr time though. So launch control does work.

But no way is it faster in down the 1/4 mile period.

Hi,

I have a brand new and in a box set of Racelogic TC with Launch Control & various settings (off 5 10 20 wet ( I think ) )if any of you are interested. http://www.racelogic.co.uk/traction.htm

However it looks like I need to be buying a new turbo frown.gif besides I don't really need it, it's just a toy TBH and the cash would be far more use to me at the minute.
