First of all hi everybody! I've seen a manual N/A 300 for sale and have fallen in love with it but i have a few questions i hope you guys can help me with?

1) How quick is the NA?

2) Does it drink fuel? I've just sold a BMW 525 sport so didnt realy want anything thirstier!

3) Will i be better holding off for a TT if i want a quick car?

Cheers in advance, Gav

Just wait, even if you have to wait a year or so and get a manual TT, trust me ;)

Fuel wise, it's a 3.0L Twin Turbo :nelson:

Hmmm, i'm just worried about turbo problems! Had a bad experience with a subaru and that was just the one turbo. This NA is a really good price, and it looks the part! Just didnt know if it had the performance to match?

N/a fuel consumption isnt all that different to a TT. Nor is the insurance. Still very nice cars as the NA owners will confirm, but don't have the power of a TT. You have got the advantage of no turbos to die though. Try to avoid going for a bargain basement TT or NA though if you don't want to spend any money on sorting it as they are old now and if it hasn't already been refreshed/rebuilt it will probably need it soon. Dave

performance of an N/A is 7 and a bit seconds 0-60 but they pull like a beaut from bottom end (better than the TT). bhp is 220/230.

Thanks for all the replies! It's a 1990, just imported, 74k on the clock. Sorry to be a pain, but how much roughly is an engine rebuild, just incase.

Some of the traders will prob give a more accurate price but mentally put aside a couple of K is a good bet.

Welcome to our world. I think if you bought a N/A you would soon get bored with it and want a bit more out of the car and will eventually want to go TT as many of the posts on here are about converting N/A to TT or tuning up the N/A its good advise from Z32king i agree with him. TT is the way to go in the end, go and view a N/A and TT that are for sale test drive them both and compare the two for power. At the end of the day its your choice but you should think ahead and decide what you want out of the car in the future if its power you want the TT is the way to go the sky's the limit with em. But what ever you decide its good to see someone from the BMW friternaty has seen the light and deffected to the right side. Good luck with your choice

I have an NA and love it. I've had it for over two years.

They're quick but if you want something really fast with potential to tune it quite easily, a TT will be better.

The NA has a nicer power delivery and less likely to go wrong though.

Try and drive them and see what you like.

Thanks guys! Well i'll definitely go and see it and have a wee go. I just wasnt sure if it had the guts to "play around" in the wet like i could in the BMW. I'll keep you all posted and let you know what i decide.

There's a vid of chunk 'playing around' in his NA in the dry! on the Jtuner thrash post in meetings section. Plenty enough power to have some fun I reckon.Dave

Dave, found the j-tuner thrash bit, but cant find the video? Have you got a link to it?
