The car started missing a couple days ago, no power on boost and very irratic idle. I suspected the PTU and following a diagnostic my thoughts where confirmed. I relocated the PTU after it started playing up last year and its been fine till now. The connectors seemed to be breaking down and by wiggling them the idle issue seemed to be cured. I replaced all the female pins in the connector and success, but not for long.

 

The car is now iddling poor and still occasionaly hesitating when cold or hot, still a code 21.

 

The last time the PTU failed the car would only run when cold. Are these new symptoms typical of PTU break down??

 

If so, i'll order a series 2 PTU from the Z centre.
