Engine water chanels cleaning

Had some overheating last week and removed the rad and the shroud, it seems that the upper water pipe needs replacing

 

doing that i noticed that the rad and and the engine had a lot of rust, it seems my mechaninc fill the car with water only and not antifreeze

 

i will spray some water from the upper pipe to try to clean the engine a bit, but is there something else that i can pour in also??
