Have you ever replaced the PCVs? I would think that could cause some oil in there, but if it really is a lot then could well be something else.

Not 100% sure on a way to test them, I think when I did mine the new ones I could hear rattle if I shook them the old ones were solid with an oily gunk and made no noise at all.

I have never looked in one but I have seen others that are a small spring with a piece of plastic on the end, over time they get clogged with oil so cleaning them out might help, I did have a couple off another engine somewhere, if you want I can look tomorrow and see if I can find them and send them to you, not saying they will be any better than the ones you have but if it helps they are yours.

i would REALLY appreciate it mate..  everything seems to be going wrong at the moment!!! ive also found tonight my damn exhaust on the drivers side is handing off.!! rotten back pipe so got to find some money to get one made up

I will look in the morning, they were off a low mileage engine which was really well cared for so hopefully they will be ok for you, let you know in the morning mate. Good luck with the exhaust, sorry but I dont have one of them in the garage.

if you have a large amount of oil in your plenum, then im almost 100% sure its breather related so check the pcv valves, best way to check is to get a pen or thin screwdriver and press valve in on pcv,if it sticks and stays in then this will mean instead of any recirculation it is being pressurised back through the intake and ending up using the plenum as an oil catch hence your oily deposits

replace both valves and 5hoses and it should clear the problem up ;)
