Hi Peeps,

I have just bought a 300zx yesterday and I have 2 things I was looking for help on. The first is that when I go over bumps in the road, pot holes etc the back end seems to slide a bit. Is it something to do with the HICAS steering or does my car need some attention? Its a bit disconcerting. The second is I have a button next to my shift stick that says A/T power and hold. Any ideas what this is? Any advice greatfully accepted!

Cheers

Ian

I found my old Zed did this, turned out to be knackered rear shocks.

With the Power/hold button do a search bud, its been aksed a million times.

I had a feeling it might be shocks. I'll pop it up on the ramp at my local ATS tomorrow and have a look. The guys in there are pretty decent (God knows I've given them enough business with my 200sx lol) I'm in Harwich....same coast line just a lot further up that you!

sounds like shocks to me mate by your description. the button next to gearstick is driving mode for the box.Hold holds the box in 3rd and sport makes the car rev higher through each gear.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll give the Z Centre a try if the shox are fubar

Hold starts the car off in 2nd and wont allow kickdown and power takes it to the redline...cant see the point of that myself as your torque and power have degraded at this point.

The overdrive switch is supposed to be for easier town driving and should be off when in towns but i find i dont need to do this really, when overdrive is off then you get a bit quicker accel tho

Well I've ordered the rear shox from Z centre. Bargain! Once they are here I'll get them put on an see how it goes. If this doesn't cure it and it is the HICAS rear arms as Dave says, how much are they, where can I get them and how much of a beeyatch will they be to fit? Cheers Ian

Well got the new shocks from the Z Centre, had them fitted by the lads at ATS for £50 cash in hand, and it drives like an absolute dream now! Cheers for the advice lads.
