Going in for a decat today - got it booked in at 2:30 this aft,

 

Here's hoping my Turbo seals are good. . . . . . . engines done 70K miles - regular oil changes, turbo timer - so been shut down proper etc.

 

What can I really expect (apart from possibly black smoke down to tub seals not being strong)

 

Is it Much louder?

Power output - is it only a few bhp and a slightly noticeable low down acceleration gain?

Good luck matey! Mine have always been decatted when I got them so can't compare really. I doubt it will be all that much louder, especially without big megaphone zorsts. It will probably be ssswwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeetttttt!

i had a boost controller installed at the same time my decat pipes went in so its difficult to tell. one year later and still no blue smoke (touch wood - although im getting plenty of white smoke :( ). engine sounds gruffer mid-way up the rev range. ;) good luck mate. fingers crossed for ya.

Mine started smoking as soon as the cats came off :cry:

 

But, you'll notice better spool-up and a nicer, deeper exhaust note though :)

if it starts smoking straight away i'd be inclined to have the cats refitted to try and save some wear on the tubby seals.

Sorry guys but mine has been ok since i carried this out 3 years ago...........................................now i have my fingers crossed :(

Mine had two new tubs put on it last year, it should be ok to decat mine yes??

well it never happened - took it down there and decided to go full stainless all the way through - so its going in this morning at 9am for cat removal then stainless pipe through to cobra twin 3 or 3.5" (not decided yet) back boxes.
