I have for a long time now been thinking of moving to Australia or New Zealand. It seems like an impossibility though. My trade is not something they seem to have any interest in over there. Then I hear a DJ on Talk Sport the other night saying that Australia are looking for people to emigrate out there. I have done a few searches but to no avail. Does anyone on here have any good info about this subject. I know we are a varied source of information so fingers crossed......

Thanks Vince

Blimey mate!-Have I started sommat'? :D

Have you tried google-I looked into Aussie ages ago and loads of info out there bud!

If you're looking at going to that part of the world, then you're better off looking at New Zealand. They have a huge tradesman deficit that needs to be filled which is not really as present in Australia.

Talk to the New Zealand high commission in London and they should be able to point you in the right direction. I think there are a few schemes in place which can assist people wanting to go there.

Hey mate,

I would recommend living out there whole heartedly.

Whats your trade? there are about 80 visa catagories

You will need to speak to an agent if you don't know where to start, top of my head I can't think of any.

You can go on a forum called http://www.britishexpats.com and just read what people are saying.

If you need any more info pm me and I will do what i can.

Scrawni.

Check out the Australian & New Zealand Immigration sites every thing you need to no is there.

Ive been trying to get out to NZ for 2 years and i have uncles and cousins there its hard to get in unless your on there most wanted list.

Australia is slightly easier at the moment in particular if your a Plasterer Plumber or Motor vehicle techy IT bod or doctor nurse ETC .....

Believe it or not New Zealand have a shortage of hairdressers ? :wack:

So you could always go back to school and become a hairdresser !!

You can go to NZ expo as well i went to one in Earls court in March.

They have loads of Employment agencies, Immigration Education and banks etc people you can talk to who are all from New Zealand.

The problem with NZ is a couple of years ago they changed the visa criteria and you need a job offer to get the visa, thats not to say it hasn't changed again since then.

i think it changed again

You also need to be able to support your self financialy for 1 year if your out of work

There is or was an age limit as well which i think was 45 ??

Thanks Si. And Allan. I would prefer NZ. to be honest my mate lives there and the Mo in law has been and both reckon its cracking. I made a few enquiries last year but as I am only a skilled Railway Signal Technician they said that my points would not be good enough to be considered so I sort of gave up? I will have another go.

 Thanks chaps.

LMAO! Like it!

A mate is going to NZ soon. It cost £1000 odd for the form to apply.

As he's a school teacher they accepted him and he's selling his house and it's all happening soon.

I'm seeing him tomorrow and I'll ask him about it. He thinks he'll be able to buy a house cheap and everything will be brilliant over there.

To be honest I think they have the same sh1t over there that we do here.

When I was young (GOD WAS A LITTLE LAD)you could just nick a loaf and they sent yer there for free.Good luck with your exit from this toilet Bud..........Vinz
