Really take the piss, ring them & tell the the monitor you ordered hasn't arrived biggrin.gif

On a serious note: If the delivery note states that they sent you a monitor, they can't realy prove that they sent you anything else.

Who did you order it from? (I need a new monitor smile.gif)

You have admitted it on here so I think you have to return it!

When i ordered my pc from a high street retailer i ordered a celeron 400 or similar. when the order arrived i received a PIII 450 and extra hard disk space and other advantages. i thought yipee and didn't bother to tell them.

A couple of weeks passed and i received a letter from the company asking for the return of the computer and if i did not comply they would bill me for the extra.

I ignored them and have never heard from them since biggrin.gif

Bollocks to them is what i say, just turn it on load some porn and then its second hand wink.gif

All IMHO of course.

I withdrew 2.5K from the bank 18 months ago and the cashier gave me 5K!!! smile.gif

I bout shat my self, in the end though I gave it back. frown.gif

Yeah you have to give it back now, unless you get google to remove this thread from all of it's caches and craig deletes the thread. Should have kept quiet. Then rang them in two days and said where's me monitor. smile.gif

Good adrenaline buz though isn't it. smile.gif

I got sent about 2grands worth of stuff by mistake once basically they cocked up because I phoned up and said they hadn't delivered my power leads so they 5 days later i got a huge parcel, when opened it was a duplicate order from before minus pwoer leds (grrr)

good news was 2 days later 2 packages of power leads turned up :O)

I didn't tell them because it was there fault, you are ok unless they realise their mistake and ask for it back, btw they can only ask for it back within the first 28 days or so :O)

Mike

To show im not that dishonest hears another story,

Got my MG fixed at a garage and labour came to £560 so i paid in cash, me and the garage owner counted out the cash 3 times and we swore it came to £560

I got home and realised i still had £700 out of the £1000 I had drawn out, I umed and ared for 2minutes until my consciene got the better of me and I drove back down the following morning and game him the extra money, he hadn't even noticed :O)

Mike

I'd call up and ask for another of the same !

Seriously though, being a fundamentally honest person I would tell them and expect them to collect it.

Years ago I was buying a bike or something and was getting some cash out of the building society. I needed something like £520 and they started counting out the £20's. Cos there was loads I asked if I could have £50's instead. She said OK, but it would just take a minute while she got them out the safe. So off she went, came back and counted me out 11 £50's. I went away and everyone was happy - except the BS who had to straighten their books that evening ! (I guess this was a while ago [15 yrs] and I wasn't so honest then!! biggrin.gif)

there's two camps of thought here....in the tooley/ginger/latz and other genral all round lovable rogues camp the pc would be up and running on the desk now with a cup of coffee in ure hand and a rye smile on your face because just for once you'd had a lucky break......in the other camp there's those who themselves have been had over and know how it feels so would be on the phone clearing their conscience as we speak.....take your pick but if you choose the first delete this thread alltogether as your admission of guilt is written for all to see also keep your delivery notes for the next 28 days and if you hear nothing the goods are legaly yours

Ask them if you can keep it in return for some handy bacofoil work wink.gif biggrin.gif

Last year I exchanged 10,000 Drachams about £5.00 and the girl at Natwest said, "How would you like it sir??" (no rude jokes pls!)

I replied "Errr £50's would be good."

She started counting to nearlly 2,500pds and I felt sorry for her as it was her first day and she seriously got the exchange rate wrong!

Jeff mate, I'd have kept it and kept quiet. You know have reached a moral dilemma by telling us!

Arrrrgggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Jeff TT

Jeff,

Your best bet is to ask the missus what you should do and then you can only blame her for your actions.

And don't forget to lie to us over what you did!!! Even if you keep it just say you didnt and stick to that story!!

Ta Ra!

Flip a coin and let fate decide, you may not like the answer but then who are you to argue with fate.....

Mark

ps I consider myself to be honest and decent, and i would have kept stum

I assume the person who ordered the PC will complain when they get your monitor. :-) At that point the company will probably ask for it back.

What I'd do is ring them up and tell them what happened before they contact you. Who knows, they may even reward you for your honesty. (Unlikely I know biggrin.gif )

Stay stum Jeff, Sounds to me like the bargain of the century. Nice specs... Hey can you ring them and ask them if they have any more...

P.S. Any joy with the UK Speedo....

The only time I remember people being rewarded for their honesty is when you find a lost pet!

Keep it and Craig delete this thread for Jeff TT, so his consiounce can forget too!
