The other day i noticed that a pipe was leaking coolant from near the top hard pipe. So ive taken the engine to bits, just have a few questions. lol

1. If i were to flush the engine which hole do i put the hose pipe in the right the left or the middle oval one?

2. where will i get the small rubber hoses from that go on the left and right pipe? Just nissan or do any people on here sell them?

This is mine

The split doesn’t seem to go right through but i can find were else it would be leaking.

Rad.

I take it the pipes on the left side are gearbox oil cooler pipes?

1. If i got an aftermarket oil cooler what do i do with these pipes? Do i empty the oil out or just block them up with nothing in?

2. What is the other big cooler that the fan is attached to, the oil cooler?

3. Is there anything else i can do while i have the rad out and all the pipes?

4. When taking the hard pipes off i noticed a black silicone substance around the seal like a gasket. Where do i get this when putting them back on?

1. fit it back up but leave hoses off the rad, stick a hose in the top and let it run out the bottom, you can flush the rad whilst out.

2.Mike@MJP-also check the stubs these connect to,as they are prone for rotting through!

3.After market oil cooler connects to these pipes!

4.The 'big cooler' is the air-con condenser!

5.Check/change thermostat.

6.Halford/motor factors,instant gasket/silicone.

HTH! :)

For the short hoses I just bought a short length of Samco hose and cut it to length. Seems to have done the trick (6 months & counting)
