Hi all

ย

Im running 14psi boost on (i think) what is a stock clutch. I've been caining the car over the weekend and now the clutch is slipping at high revs on high boost (works ok still on low boost). Due to the high tyre grip in the hot weather there was more pressure on the clutch than ever no i'm not really suprised.

ย

The biting point of the clutch pedal is right at the top and always has been so a new uprated clutch will be needed soon anyway but i was wondering if i could adjust the pedal to fix the problem on a temp basis or am i totally screwed?

I want to adjust my clutch pedal too as now i have to put the clutch pedal almost all the way down (and i got a new clutch last november *sob*). So for faster gear changes i want the bite with about 2" of clutch pedal movement.

noone know if the clutch pedal is adjustable then?

are you getting a burning smell?

ย

the clutch has ajustment but if its slipping id imagine you either have a rear crank seal leak,or the plate has worn down the nothing,so new clutch needed im afraid.rps sport is the one to go for ideal for running additional boost aswell, dont go oem it wont last v.long

Yes rps sport will be my solution. But the clutch doesnt smell at all??

still works fine on low boost - but i go nowhere on high boost!

Does it in 4th and 5th the most where the torque is high i guess

ย

not sure why it doesnt smell at all tho? Could it be anything else?

From my experience clutch slip because of worn clutch is across all gears and speed. When my clutch went last year it was more the momentum of the car that kept it going lol. But i am worried as to get 1st gear i have to depress the clutch pedal all the way now.

Sports clutch for me next time for sure but id rather wait another 18 months!

Sounds like you may have a hydrolic problem maybe air in the system or a master / slave cylinder issue.

mmm ok i might try adjusting the pedal as it does bite right at the top. But then again if the plate is very worn it will bite at the top wont it?

ย

its still manages to grip on normal boost just not high boost so far but its definatly getting worse! I'll have to test it again on low boost to see if it does it.

Ah bum grapes. I replaced the clutch slave unit three months ago. I will bleed it again, not a hard job though.
