Yes mate petrol LOL

no you should really check ur viscous fan, water level and radiator condition.

Have a good look round and check cooling system for leaks etc

You would be best to check ur antifreeze content.

Wouldnt be a bad idea to change thermostat if it hasn,t been done for a couple of years.

Just remember if your car starts to get hot in traffic. Turn your heater to hot and see if it is hot and see if it brings the temp down.

If the heater is cold when set on hot Stop straight away.

why would it pump cold air out when the temp is hot? i had that the other day and it turns out i had a leak from one of my coolant pipes.

"why would it pump cold air out when the temp is hot"

Empy heater matrix due to low water level / air lock

ah yeah, makes sense! ta.

i'm going to do the process of leaking air out of the cooling system and it says to fill the radiator up to the top and then run it for 10-20 mins until the thermostat opens up and then keep re-filling until sufficient etc etc...

first question, how do i know when the thermostat opens? why does it open? and do i leave the radiator cap OFF when i'm leaving the enigne on for the first bit? becasue surely it will keep bubbling up from the pressure?

ta.
