Nissan GB Rip Off--- Read This

As from 18-3-2002 Nissan GB will now charge you £30.00 for every parts or technical enquiry regarding a non european purchased Nissan vehicle (ie Have a Jap Import you pay)

This applies even if you end up buying parts from them.

Outrageous or what.

Hi,Guys. Here's a little help from the dark continent.Use this link http://www.nissan.co.za and look under parts. All UK spec part numbers and prices in ZAR.(divide by 17 and be amazed) wink.gif

Only 90-92 model year though.

Cheers

Now that is a useful site. Prices seem to be good, less tha the UK, but more than the US. Dunno about shipping & tax though, plus you can't order on line frown.gif

thats it, ive snapped, i cant take it no more, ive just emailed top gear magazine and told them about these stupid extra charges for us import owners as if it wasnt enough us getting ripped of with extortionate prices in the first place.

i'll let u know if i get a response

i'm serious about doing this i'm about to start a petition for all import owners i'm gonna start posting on boards and try and get some media coverage to highlight the plight and basic unfairness of how all import owners and not just nissan ones are being treated and then lobby my local mp until he's sick of hearing my name until he does something would you import owners sign a petition if i get one that you can do by e-mail

Yeah too right mate! FFS, the whole baloon has been burst along time ago! Usual fucking shite in this country, govt and car industry didn't fucking like it coz UK peeps were going abroad to buy nice cars! Any cars! Cheaper than rip off sodding Blightey!

So they try and deter you by increasing the insurance premiums and getting the Main Dealers to say that your "IMPORT" is so different from a UK spec car they can't even quote you prices without ringing back home to Yokohama! FUCK OFF!

I hate this, I swear that if it weren't for the fact that Prince(not Datsun/Nissan) created the Skylark I would never have another one of these nastey cars again! Reason? Because Toyota never started this racket over imports, Honda are pretty helpful now but Nelson Dealers??? Nahhhhhh, them fuckers just show themselves to be what the majority of us already know...licensed to print dollars and get away with daylight robbery! TOSSERS! mad.gif

tooleyman, bring the petition to the brum meet, im sure youll get a few autographs there.

i'm getting my m8 cossie chris to set up a quick hit website and it will be just like signing a guestbook so its nice and easy....i'll need about 100,000 bods signatures to make my local mp stand up and take note but im gonna hit a lot of car websites to make people aware. having done my homework i think this figure is easily attainable

another south african biggrin.gif

its 16.44 to the rand and good luck getting any info out of that place lol.

Any stock they dont have they charge 130% duties on it anyway.

Plus import duties are in excess of 30 % as i founf out to my horror today frown.gif

so your in SA wheres abouts?

Another thing which will happen with Nissan's £25 fee is that, for the first time (IMHO), accident repairers will have genuine reason to charge insurance companies more for repairs to imports.

This will lead to an even greater price differential when insuring imports than the current (unjustifiable) one.

Dave

If somebody gives me all the workshop and parts cd roms at birmingham ill burn a few in the pub for anybody who needs them. let me know and will bring pc and blank discs charge only 4 price of disc, balls 2 Mr Mandella

Hey, we've seen 19.21 in Dec.'01 and yeah, they all morons.

"Plus import duties are in excess of 30 % as i founf out to my horror today"

Are you sure about this?Last Nov. I brought some parts in from US...no duties.

At least we don't have problems with grey imports like the UK guys. They're simply not allowed, period. mad.gif

I'm posting from sunny Boksburg (next to the mine dump) wink.gif

OK then, Does that mean every Skyline owner will get charged as well then - seeing as thats an import......Bet they bloody dont do they!
