My car runs totally brilliant, no smoke nothing, making good power but obviously we knew something was wrong.

Anyway i bought a leakdown tester to see exactly where its losing pressure and whats needed to rebuild it back to 100%

Was a real eye opener did a compression test first and all were 160 psi with the engine being cold but number 4 was at 90 odd so i knew that something was wrong there anyway but then we did the leak test and 1,2,3 were all perfect no valve leaks, ring leaks, headgasket leaks etc, did number 4 and we expected a bad result and as we expected went straight down into the red and you listen to where the leak is coming from.

Oil cap and its the ring, exhaust and its the exhaust valve, throttle body, inlet valve and if its leakin from the head gasket you will hear it further down the block.

Anyway as we expected air was coming from the oil cap!! did 5 and even though it was still in the green it did drop and was leaking from the oil cap again so again the ring is letting pressure through and number 6 was perfect.

So i thought i would write this as it goes to show you just because it feels ok, doesnt smoke etc it doesnt mean your not losing power from a leaky ring or valve!!!

Would hazard a guess that theres plenty of zeds out there that are leaking without people knowing!! so well worth getting a tester and check it now and again to make sure your car is working to its best ;)
