Hi guys, ive been thinking about getting a grounding kit but what id really like to know is what advantages do they give? Ive read on afew websites that they can give upto a max of 8bhp, but that was on a subaru wrx. The reason why im after one is because everytime we get in / out of the car we get an electric shock. Would a grounding kit eliminate this? Ive also read that this improves engine response, smooth idling and an improvement on fuel econemy. Does a grounding kit really do all this?

Whats peoples thoughts on these as i know alot of you have them?

Many thanks.

Rob

You being serious lol?

of course not there hideous..havnt seen them in years.reckon the grounding kit will cure your static problem but i couldnt comment on them being a performance upgrade.

they are not likely to increase performance but they may improve electrics like starting, and with a good ground it can save your h.matrix,a poor grounding can send small electrical currents through the cooling systym and could lead to damaging the alluminium core on the matrix itself, not 100% positive but apprantly its true?

but should cure your static shocks of the car body :)

you get a static shouck because the energy builds up and has nowhere to go , grounding kits will not change this, the energy needs to be grounded for the shocks to stop. as for the grounding kits, I have one and my idle is rock solid and starts with the barest hint of engine turnover...mind you it did before i fitted it so i dont know wether it would help a car with a poor ground system.
