Turns out it's my middle box on my Superdrager that is leaking. Must have hit a speed bump    because there is no corrosion around it.

Reckon that can be welded? Looks like a hole, plus a split as well.

I'm only a part time bodger but that looks a bit thin to be welded easily. An expert may be able to do it of course ...

to be honest i dont think its worth welding you may manage to do it but it will need a big patch and it will probably blow again

This is not good news guys - where am I going to get a centre section of a Superdrager from?

looks like stainless , if so the cracks are caused by work hardening of the metal, could be repaired you would need to take it off and get a fabrication shop to repair it tho, make sure its repaired with stainless and not mild steel or you,l get a bimetal reaction which will cause it to rust through a lot quicker than normal.

Best thing to do is remove it, PITA I know, but much easier in the long run.

Then "wrap" a sheet of metal right around the silencer, keeping it nice and tidy round the edges.

Fully weld the new wrap around the old seams where it will be thicker and keep your new seam on the top, outa sight. Bingo. :)

Could do it for you no probs, but am 400 miles away from you bud. :(

If you get stuck, you can send it up and I will sort it for you, no charge !

I may well hold you to that Alan!

Thanks for the advice.

Try Powerflo exhausts in Marshbarton mate.

Took it down to Powerflow this morning. The silencer couldn't be saved, so they removed it and replaced it with some straight though pipes (for 60 squid which I don't think was too bad!).

Needless to say it's a bit louder now - but still not obscene. Must find a tunnel somewhere.
