Hey m8

what you are better off doing is finding the part numbers on this site for it and either go with those to the main dealers or order it from www.courtesyparts.com

the part numbers can be found under tech stuff - usefull info or on andyp's site i believe

Cheers

All these main dealers have very bad attitudes to import vehicles frown.gif

I bought a wiperblade (with the holder but NOT the arm) for my import townace from Toyota: £17+vat.

Robbing bastards have a special button on their parts quote computers marked

"Import Vehicle - Add 70%"

Theives. Thats what they are.

Common theives.

is it time to have a word with trading standards?

I think it would be a more direct approach to 'have a word' with Iain and BigRoy - who could perhaps 'have a word' in the shell-like of these skankers hehe!

Ah man Im sick to the back of my arse with this shit.

Take ANY product.

Search with Copernic for this product.

Realise how much they pay for it in the United States or Continental Europe.

Still, as Karl Marx said - a product or service is only worth what people are prepared to pay for it. And I've just paid £17 for a wiper blade.

And I quite fancy myself as a bit of a Marxist LMAO!!

Oh dear.

In defence of Nissan, i use Nissan in Charlsharlton Beeches, and have had nothing but good service form them, just like i had in Italy lol.

I asked the dealer why they need a chassis number, and the reply was, because they can only acess the parts network with a Chassis number. The guy in parts Knows i have an Import and yet he never asks me for anything. I have even baught parts and returned them there.

Just my two cents lol

Hell and unlike Many other companies they even return my calls.

G'day all

when I first got my 1989 J import in Aug 1999 all was sweetness and light from both local Mandela (now Dan Perkins Nissan in Slough) and Nissan Motor UK ("they're all Nissans, Sir, and we look after them wherever they're from"). "Nice", I thought.

Since then, the service has been mostly fine - DP have a 300ZX expert and (touch wood) all is fine - I will be booking in for next service as per usual.

OTOH both their parts and Nissan Motor seemed to have had a sense of humour failure. The parts dept got attitude so badly when I was asking them about J bulbs pricing that I put the phone down (couldn't find any toys, wasn't in the pram).

I called Nissan Motor UK many times to find out about the OEM wheel / tire sizes and was given wrong web site, wrong Nissan Japan e-mail address and eventually given Nissan J-land Customer Service phone number. These guys were much more helpful despite the language / time difference.

Has something "Corporate" changed recently? Shame, if so.

Perhaps they should always remember that we can always go to people like Courtesy, Japarts, MJP - and (in the last resort) call the Customer Service people in Japan. Oh. alright then, they are on +81 (0)3 3543 5523

NIssan Motor UK Customer Service are 01923 899334

Just over a year ago I went to my local Nelson and asked for a cambelt. The guy on the counter asked if it was an import and I said yes. He said no problem and took my chassis number, he told me he would contact Japan and find out if it was the same as UK spec. He phoned me up the next day and said he would have it for me in a couple of days.

I suppose its like everywhere else you might see someone who is ok or you might cop for a right twat.

I would suggest going in with the part number and just telling him thats what you want.

Paul

Nissan have just changed their policy for import parts. All dearlers have been informed that searches for import parts will have a surcharge of £25. This seems to be a bit of a turn around, because a little while back they charged you £25 to 'register' your import car on their UK system.

This approach seems to be the complete opposite of Toyota. I am told that Toyota UK actively chastise dealers who gives customers with grey imports the run around.

I recently had the same. My local Nissan dealer tried his best, he gets onto Nissan Europe for a part number for an aircon pump for my j-import, they charge him £25 and when he puts the number in to check the pricing and availability its spitsout "part no longer available". Whilst I'm there he calls Nissan and they tell him that not only is that part no longer available there is no substitution parts number either. In the end he suggested coming on here to see if anyone had one for sale and to try MJP and Japart. A new one from Japart would be £780 +duty +VAT +shipping...OMG £1000. However, what if they order it and it doesn't fit my car? Sorry sir thats your problem! I'm stuffed! Bet you can't recondition them either. Love the car, hate the hassle and bills.

well screw nissan as far as i am concerned. You will actually get your stuff faster and cheaper from courtesy.

who are courtesy?

Same new charge story at the Toon Nelson Mandela for clutch bits as they couldnt quote for NA's due to only TT's in UK.

Sounds to me like they got the hump after so many peeps ask for prices and then find them twice as cheap elsewhere and never ring them back after they've tried japan....if they could be bothered on that particular day of course.

Never needed them in the end yet so so long Mr Mandela!

That's true Andy mate about Toyota, just before I gave the Soup up I asked Caroline(lurrrvvvveeeellllyyyy Service Manager at my local Toyota Dealer) where they stood on servicing MR-2 Turbos etc.

She said they provided the same service for imports that they did for UK spec cars. In fact she told me at the time she had an MR-2 Turbo in and a Lexus Soarer Turbo coming in the following day with an electrical fault! Good effort! wink.gif

If any one needs a UK spec chassis number drop me a line, you can use mine for ordering bits.

Bob

seems this £25.00 is a cen of worms!

anyway have ordered the bits on british spec numbers but if the parts are wrong tuff titty

i have ordered parts from usa to repair my ski nautique comp waterski boat in the past and have got service that is second to none infact exelent.but what time scale is it ordering parts from courtesy.com and are those prices correct?

british nissan pcv valve £18.00 + vat

courtesy.com pcv valve $3.95 + tax

That in english is about £3.00 +tax + shipping

is this for real?????? or just a printing error????

allan

Nope, that's kosher. The shipping can be a bit of a shocker though. It often pays to make an order (of lightweight parts) up to that value of about £55, then you tend not to get done for the taxes.

Nissan really are tossers !

Needed a bulb for the backlighting on the climate control on my Pajero (Jap spec Shogun).

"I'm very sorry sir but the climate control unit on your car was not available on the UK car and so I will have to make a special order. It may take up to 24 hours to arrive."

Called me 15 hours later to tell me they'd got it.

Sorry - probably doesn't make you feel any better !

Now that Mike @ MJP Autos has got the Nissan microfiche set for the Z32 I get everything from him. Excellent service so far.

Yup - top man. Very competitive pricing too, although Johnny will be cheaper for some stuff.

That's fucking disgusting that!!!!!! Makes my blood boil.

Toyota used to have an attitude towards imports but they're ever so helpful now. You still have to quote your chassis number when ordering parts, etc but there's no additional charges or admin fees.

If you're certain the part is the same on the UK as on Jap then they shouldn't even mention an admin fee.

Pete

Parts ariving today with nelson will see if parts are the same but ur right admin fee is a rip offand its £25 per part enquire so my parts would have been £73.00 plus £75 admin fee thats £148.00 had to think about that
