I'm looking at buying a Z and I test drove an import today. There were two obvious problems and one confusion on my part:
1) at low speeds in second gear there was vibration through the seat (I'm thinking prop shaft?)
2) at about 80 mph in fourth there was a vibration that seems to affect the whole car, rather than just being felt through the seat. The gearstick shook and the steering wheel vibrated as well, it felt like the car would lurch all over the place if I didn't keep a tight grip on the wheel (not a great feeling on the motorway)
I'm not sure if these are related, or if one could be wheel alignment and the other something else (wouldn't expect wheel alignment to cause a vibration from under the car).
Can anyone offer up any wisdom on these two issues? I don't think it's purely down to tracking/wheel balance or alignment. Basically, I'm concerned it's something more expensive!
Also, the confusion was that there was no turbo gauge, so is there any simple way to check the state of, or performance of the turbos without seeing the boost on idle and then when being pushed?
