Im looking at getting a nice sounds install done to the car and was wondering what kind of Subwoofers people would recommend on the site

I play alot of rnb and hip hop.........big heavy bass lines

Ideally i want a sub that can handle over a 1000w rms (not peak) but i want a good quality sub..........max budget of £200 for each sub as i wanna get two

get down your local cash convertors/pawn shop! seriously it always seems they have loads of them for dirt cheap! i just got a sony xplod sub for £40

Fas i currently have Lanzar Optidrive subwoofers on special offer at present 12" 1100watts RMS ..£150.00 each... PM me for more info bud .. these have been seen by a few members at our bluewater meet .. to get big heavy deep bass u will also need a good enclosure and plenty of volume .. i would recomend a single 12 in a slot port box design due to the lack of room in the boot of a Zed .. these style boxes ooze efficiency

What is the quality like of these subs?

Iv always been a 'kicker' man but theyre L7's arent powerful enough for what i want, theyre L7's actually come in my budget...........iv also been looking at Audiobahn subs but dont know where to start

Whats the enclosure size for the Lanzars........sealed.........as ported boxes i hear have a larger enclosure size

Cheers

Fas .. below is a pic of the actual sub .. to lanzar specs it runs 1.8cu/ft in ported. this is after displacement of the sub and port area, off the top of my head i cant quote on the sealed as im currently away from home .. the sub itself is great ability to drop a low and deep note .. i myself would go for ported if i required a deep low bass and 1100w RMS is usualy enough power for most as you will have to look into serious charging problems running more than 2 batteries etc and more importantly, looking at your pics .. vibration and bodykits .. its worth while trying 1 of which ever sub u go for for the above reasons .. then take it from there

i have test box made ready to try one of these beasts in the zed for tuesdays Bluewater meet .. i would sooner other members quote on the sound of it rather than give you a sales pitch

p.s. the rear exterior of the car is gonna be heavily sound proofed with matting and spray.........shouldint this stuff help in the vibration of the car and stop my bodywork from seriously cracking?

Fas . im based in east london .. sound deadening is a good move for the interior panels .. its also advisable to use sound deadening spray on the back of the firbreglass panels if you can get to them as this will help reduce resonance which could lead to cracking of joints etc esp on systems running over 1000w RMS .. give me a call on 07886 660 295 anytime between 10am and 8pm and i will be glad to help as best i can

When the time comes nearer for me to start purchasing the items that i need, then i will defiantely be in touch as i wanna see what you've done with your Zed and what kind of a sound you've achieved from the car

Fas

Fas .. my car is far from completed .. its the usual .. to busy doing everyone elses lol .. its just past design stage .. the car will be producing over 8kw RMS on sub bass and aquiring the room in a zed to achieve that is a nitemare .. i have a demo box that you can sit and listen to in the zed as for completion .. im looking at JAE

If you want sound quality with plenty of wumph then i would look at ither JL Audio W7 range or the Diamond Audio D6 and D9 range but if you are after a good subwoofer then you will need a good power supply and a good amplifier.
