Does that not have to be the stupidist place to put a fuse box

Hi guys. Eventually found the fuse box in the interior. (glad i bought that manual off ebay would never have found it.)

Guess you aint supposed to blow a fuse.

As the plan is in japanesse had to remove all the fuses to find which one I had blown.

This involves kneeling down on the kerb getting wet and fiddling around behind the throttle pedal.

Will remove the battery cable next time I am working on the sparks.

Was only trying to remove the boing noise.

:headvswal :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal

Think I have done it though but wont find out till i get another fuse.

While i'm on anybody know which wire is the sender to the speedo so I can fit the dam delimeter. If I cut anymore wires the car wont pull the wait of all the connectors.

1990 jap spec SWB TT.

Thanks Darrell

Oh dear, do you have a clue what you're doing?

The limiter goes on the back of the speedo housing.

Fingers crossed you haven't disabled anything important...

Fusebox access is nothing compared to faffing around with engine and suspension stuff. Try changing the drivers side steering rack bush is less than 6 hours without going insane.

Worst car fuse box i had was in an Alfa Romeo 164 - 25 fuses, 9 relays and all in Italian. Could not find a reference for what they were. And because the car was possesed i had to remove 3 relays else the car battery would die in no time.

To remove the boing you cut wire behind speedo :

Do realise that the delimiter goes on the back of the speedo housing. The instruction that it came with said cut the black and green wire on the left of the plug second one up. This turned out to be the boost gauge wire. Dow.

Found the wiring diagram on this forum which showed it as another wire so tried that one and it still dosent work.

Thought while I was there I would disable the boing. Whilst doing that touched the wire to earth and hey presto blew the fuse.

All I won't to know is which wire is the sender to the speedo.

Someone must know.

Decided to put it all back as it was and start again. Replaced the fuse and reconected the wires together. The problem now is that I get no rev counter or oil gauge but the bost gauge goes all the way up. I dont think the speedoo works either. Good news is that the boing for the lights still works.

Any advice would be welcome.

Have I destroyed the speedo cluster or is it just something more simple.

Darrell
