Hi Guys,

After reading about Williams car being stolen I thought I would ask about extra security on my 300.

I've got a cat1 imobiliser/alarm fitted, should I have anything else eg. wheel lock etc. or is this enough. Cars parked on the road outside the house (just watch out for the buses) I don't want too go through the pain that being stolen would cause.

Any suggestions?

William, did your have a Cat 1 immobiliser?

Mines got a cat 1 Cobra alarm with wheel locks.

It's enough to put someone off for a bit but if they want to nick they will. I would expect to hear it go off though as the boot and bonnet have switches on them.

Even if the battery is cut the alarm will still go off.

dont forget tracker monitor or the new trackstar sat monitor system as well as your alarm. any alarm no matter how good it is will only help for so long. cars like these can sometimes be lifted onto a wagon and at least with a tracker it can be found

Thanks,

any suggestions of a make or where to buy.

Prices etc.

Thanks

You can have the most expensive alarm system on the market but remember it`s only as good as it`s been fitted. I have seen some expensive alarm systems fitted with scotck locks that take 2 mins to get past the immobiliser. If you are in the market shop around a bit and try to use someone you have heard of (plug plug!!!)

As far as tracker goes the best on the market at the moment is Tracker with 24 hr monitoring, this will set you back around £450.00 but is watched 24hrs for peace of mind.

I don`t fit this system but can arrange a fitter to contact you if you are interested.

What alarm have you got Tooley, if you have a Clifford G4 i can do it for £160 all in.
