oh no welcome to the nightmare world of a broken heater matrix......the matrix isnt that dear but the labour involved is mega bucks be prepared for at least a £400 pound hit to the bollox

Sure as hell is the heater matrix.

Check for earth leaks before you replace it. I went though 4 in less than a year because of an earth leak. The stray currents cause electrolysis which eats it way through aluminium. I have a simple description on how to check for earth leaks that I can let you have. Let me know and I'll go digging for it.

Yes mine has just gone too i can see the green coolant dripping into the footwell and it stinks too, ive got it booked in one of the only nissan dealers that now the car,

They are doing it for £380 and thats the part and vat in too.

Good luck with yours

Terry

Call me suspicious, but!!!!

The matrix is approx. £130 plus the VAT, so this implies that to do the job they think that's its about 4 hours work at typical main dealer rates. To do the job properly they should be taking the whole dashboard off. If they rush the job and don't put it all back properly you'll be creaking to the extent that you'll go nuts within a week. I found many bolts had not been replaced properly (if at all) the first time mine was done.

Or are they doing it the back door route as I've seen described twinturvo.net. This sound like a recipe for bady connect hoses.

Tooley had his matrix done by Middlehurst so not surprising that went on him again! FFS! wink.gif

I had mine done luckily under warranty at Arriva Nissan in Peterborough and touch wood it's been fine.

It is as I said on the other thread a right mare of a job either way it's done. Dash off is the way to go I say. IMHO

It's all labour and to be honest I would rather have anal sex with Ruby Wax than attempt getting the entire dash off on a 300! LOL biggrin.gif
