Guyz,

 

Its the end of the road for my Z. After almost 3 years of owning a Z I can no longer insure the bloody thing nor am I prepared to spend more thousands trying to keep it running. I will be breaking it up for parts fairly soon!

 

Does NE1 here also own an MR2 Turbo or have a friend who owns one. I'm looking for some buying advise. No jokes pleaase. I am already gutted.

I mate of mine has one (was at the RR day) and he knows all the guys on their forum, including Deano (I think) who's car is nearly 300bhp RWHP !!!! Can put you in touch if you want.

 

PS They're all hairdressers though ! LOL

this always sounds so mercenary but i'd be interested in bits if you are gonna break it seems a shame as didnt it get bumped and you had it all put right not long ago....r u gonna do a list of what goodies you have fitted

I'm sorry to hear that another Z has gone the way of the dodo, you must be gutted.

When you are breaking it, could you send me a list of the performance parts you'll have for sale?

Dino with the 300bhp mr2t is one of my best friends, and i'm sure he can give you some decent advice.

Yeah my mrs had one, we sold it a few months ago. Drop me an e mail if u want mate or if u want to talk to her about it. (hairdressers car though )

I've had an idea. Use the money you would of spent on the mr2 and buy another z, then when it breaks down use the bits off youre old z to repair your new z! There you go, problem solved!

Shit, I was hoping we would stay away from the hairdresser jokes LOL.

 

I have spend thousands keeping it on the road, we're talking 5 figures here. You name it, I've replaced it! The engine is on its way out and has a huge oil leak, turbo's shagged. It's over 12 years old and tired. Also, someone went up the back of me recently and shunted me into the back of another car. I am hoping for a payout rather than repairs. Even if the damage is repaired I will not get more than 2 1/2 - 3K with the engine the way it is. I will probably get more breaking it. The insurance has gone tits up. The cheapest quote I can get with mods is over 5K. On standard power then its about 2.5K. I'm not prepared to pay this kind of dosh on insurance.

I'd be interested in the tie rods when you're selling them, also if you are going to buy an Mr2 turbo, try to buy one over here in Ireland as they are much cheaper than in the UK due to: 1 they are impossible to insure here, and 2 the strength of sterling vs the euro. Send me a mail when you're thinking of buying and I'll have a look over here for you.

The wheels are 18x10 and 18x9 with 285/30 and 245/35 profile tyres. The front tyres are half worn and the rears almost brand new (almost £400). I am going to get the wheels recon'd first. 1K for wheels and tyres. I'll chuck in £200 worth of free spacers for a rear wide body kit conversion too. WillyEd, yep, same wheels.

 

The leather seats, front and rear are black leather with red leather inserts. Almost new condition. Drivers side is electric. Best offer over £400.

Auto box. All the solenoids have been replaced too. About 10k miles. Cost over £1500 including solenoids. Best offer over £600. HKS ALC £70.

 

Tie rods, £100.

 

Mines ECU £350 (cost over twice this new). It is currently mapped for 98-100 octane fuel but it can be remapped to 95 octane for free.

 

Intake, £50

 

£250 for all 4 brembo discs and pads (3-4 months old) including green stuff pads

 

Is there anyone can can break the car down for me? I will pay cash.
