Can't believe so many people on here are pleased Barca won.

Typical English people, you really dissapoint me.

Why did you not see it as an English team against a Spanish team.

You need to remember who you support Paul and how many foreigners your club fields every Saturday.

Arsenal are in no way one of my favourite clubs in the Premiership, however, tonight, they were representing

A. Our Capital City

B. An English Team

C. The Premiership

Surely that was enough for us to give our support.

Unfortunately, comments like I've seen on the board tonight doesn't surprise me. Like I said earlier. It's the typical English attitude lately.

well said , as in the other thread, they were robbed and all those people who said "thery are glad barca won won"  sort it out

How can anyone say they were robbed....their keeper fouled eto who was gonna score.....red card in anyones language...stopping a goal scoring oppertunity...end of story. AC Milan against Braca went down to 10 men a few years ago in the Euro final and won 4-0...... were barca robbed then by the ref? Come on.

Arsenal were up against it going down to 10 men but scored with a dubious free kick...swings both ways me thinks.......

Cheers John Crisp

hmm pig bladder being kicked round between two teams i don't support :D wish i could say i had an opinion on the game but......i don't so i'll just say

....roll on the world cup!!!!

I dont think he was on Barca's side......he did give a dubious free kick for Arsenal's goal. I think most refs are shit whether it be scottish/english/eauropean football but for me tonight I dont think he was on Barcelona's side.

fair enough dude, atleast celtic dont have to qualify next season. But the ref did make some very dubious decisions...ask the 3rd official who was replaced because he was seen with a barca shirt on

Does this not prove my point "Their Keeper". Who are you referring to?

If you were supporting Arsenal as an English Club, representing London, England and the Premiership, surely you wouldn't refer to Lehmans as "Their Keeper".

For not wanting to spell his name wrong I was referring to the Arsenal keeper...as though its difficult to work out.

Being honest the whole British thing doesnt work for me and as for the result I just wanted to see a good football match which was spoiled by the sending off but if the goal was allowed and Lehman was never sent off who knows how the game would have finished.

On the whole I think football as a game is full of over paid underachievers except for a few but this is all my opinion and nothing else

Good question and TBH, I expected it from Paul.

My answer to that is simple it would be Barca

However, this is only because of the rivalry between the two clubs up here. I would expect every Newcastle fan to say the same if it were Sunderland (fat chance of that though eh :D )

The same reason why I would expect every Chelsea or Spurs fan to want Barca to win. And Everton supporters would have wanted Milan to win last year.

Most English people who watched the matched tonight haven't got the close rivalry as A Spurs/Chelsea fan might have and they are more or less a nuetral fan, probably like most on this forum.

So I had no love of Arsenal or Barcalona, just the support I could give for a team representing my country and my capital city in the biggest cup final in world football.

I must be one of the dying breed of patriotic Brits.

Got nothing to do with an English club, etc, etc and all to do with being a true supporter and follower of other English clubs. I wish arsenal nothing but misery in all their footballing endeavors so why should i want them to win the champions league. Bet all those gooners were gutted when we went out!!!!

Barcelona deserved the win.

You must be a Spurs/Chelsea fan then

If so, I can fully understand your comments

atleast celtic dont have to qualify next season.

Well ya see, something good came outta that S4ITE! match

YEP SPOT ON

but started a few years ago, when the glory hunters started switching

the majority of utd supporters aint got a clue where it is

they think its here

http://www.royoftherovers.com/rovers.htm :nelson:

unheard of a few years ago that you didn't support your LOCAL team

chelsea support is guarenteed to jump again, so the affinity to your local club is not the same, and the same goes for our sides in europe,

slagging england will be the next, and without a ball being kicked

let's face it some people's life would be awfuly sad with nothing to moan and gripe about

As far as I'm concerned Barcelona cheated their pansy asses through the entire game! Arsenal were the better side by far...oh by the way I support Birmingham but all English clubs in Europe get my support!!

Rob

Not really, if sunderland ever qualify for a freindly against Calais or someone I will be right there cheering you on ;)
