help info please...when the car is running the top pipe with the sensors on gets hot however the bottom one dont their dont seem do be and pressure in the rad if you take the car off after running also coolant runs from the rad cap more or less strifgt away... the temp gauge in the dash seems ok and working fine i ran the car to temp 180 c????

there is a test if your up to it , could remove the thermostat, put in boiling hot water in saucepan

 

ask wife for permission ,, or it blooming hurts !!!!

 

watch it as water is warming up to see if the spring releases to open it , if it dont after long period of time , would deffo say its buggered , would of thought the car would of overheated by now though ,

best advice id give is ring a mechanic would give you best way round to find prob

just got a new one because after all the hassle of taking the old one out easier to put new in was only £20 so will see if it is the thermostat...

like your thinking , start with small items in expense

 

then move on from there,

do they do different water thermostats ie winter ones and summer ones for the zed , just a thought?

I would replace the rad cap as well, most zeds need a new one and they are cheap, too cheap not to get one :headvswal

um in all the times ive had cars the bottom pipe should always be cooler than the top.that means the rad is doing its job
