Hi Guys,

This may seem a bizarre question, but thought id ask it anyway :x:

If you prang it, are the insurance in the right not to pay out if you have a decat, where you should have a catalyst if the car is over 1991?

Basically, I want to remove the cats, but I dont want the insurance to be null and void if involved in an accident.

as long as you tell them they will pay out mate

Mine is a 1995. I dont mind putting the CATS back for the MOT. Its just the insurance im concerned about.

I cant see the Insurance company covering the car if I have decats coz from 1992 you need CATS by law?

Decats and the MOT and decats in respect of insurance companies are two different things, as long as you tell the insurance company what mods you have had done they will pay out, but usually only for standard parts.
