This happened to me twice last year. Same gauge, middle one. I reckoned it must be from the targa seals, but could be wrong.

Never did get to the bottom of it.

Right pain in the ass, as it drips all over your RH binnacle.

Anyone got any idea on the cause and the best fix.

Targa Drain pipes that runs down the A-pillars could be blocked, so the water runs along the the outside of the pipe, and onto anything between the A-pillar and back of the dash.

Yes, defo the seals matey. I had a wet suprise a few times in the Zed and thats not sexual before anyone starts!!

i got the same problem but from the top gauge :headvswal :headvswal

remove the driver's targa and look for the hole (looks like a drill hole) thats supposed to allow water to flow down and emit from the front wheel arch. pour some water down it and see whether its blocked or not.

most likely its a seal gone - you can usually follow how the water's finding its way inside the car.

Brett it is the same problem all Zs have.

Do a window diagnostic. :mac1: Open door and try to shake window from side to side, if you think it moves too much; do the following:

Put your front window down and on the outside there is a plastic cover which reveals a bolt. Undo this bolt then move onto the inside of the car. Remove the trim inside the door (series 1 have a bolt to hold the top of seat belt onto). Once open there will be a bolt and a nut. This is what causes the problem. It is normally either slack or lost in your door someplace. Either tighten or replace with new nut and job is done.

Sorted lots of Zs now. No need for new targa seals or anything like that (which I had done  ).

Hows the new house getting on? If you need a hand moving any other things in etc give me a shout and I will borrow one of the vans from my work.

Also if any of you are using a screw at the top to hold the new trim on, loosen it, by screwing it in tight it squeezes the drain tube making the water overflow back into the targas.

cheers

Got the same problem with water in the gauges. Turned out that the water came in trough the front window. Remove the pillar. Have someone to help you pourr lots of water on the roof while you are inside the car

mat be worth taking the scuttle panel off and removing any shit thats in there, IIRC there are also drain holes that clog and the water gets into the heater vents and leaks into the car. Wont effect your A-pillar gauges but will effect electrics behind the dash :-)
