not if its already beeg registered you cant.

if it sits around for 5 years before 1st date of reg then thats the reg you get.

seen mercs that are 3-4 years old before they are registered.

Technically speaking you could have a 20 year old car that is unregistered, and will have one of todays plates on if registered now. I can remember seeing a '51 plate Z a few years back!

where on log book dose it say manufactured

LOL! iv got 2 of the last UK VW Beetle convertables sitting here at work unregistered!!

thats just *****cks though isnt it! they give all this crap about how the reason you cant put a newer plate on a car is in case you pretend its newer than it actually is - then it doesnt matter if you havnt put a plate on it before!

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I once saw a 3dr sierra coswort manufacture 1986-1987 on a T plate the bloke got the shell+engine NEW from ford (i say new both 15yr's old) and cos he put it together it went down as a new car. If you look at a new car and want to pick tyre's have a munufacture date should be on the outside wall and would look like DOT 0906

09=week 06=year so week 9 (march) 2006

wheres the date on the log book

You dont need the Log book, just the registration number. I then use this via ebays sell a car feature, it bring all those details up for free :-)

on jap cars generally, there is a tag sewed onto the seatbelt towards the bottom, it has a manufactured date, thats how i knew my 300zx reg'd in 1992 (UK car) was made in 1991. i think its a red tag on the zed
