was doing my breaks today, and the front pass floor was wet with coolant, undid bolts holding arch lining in and the overfill bottle that is on the left with the yellow cap and long plastic dipstick was full to the top!!!!!

on the bottle the is an underlined L and H low and high i belive.

the coolant was bright green so its obviously the new stuff i put in, but i didnt fill this bottle myself.

why was this bottle full of coolant??? and is it something i should be worried about? i emptied the bottle out and cleaned it out also as it had some brown crap in.

is there a reason this fills up? my radiotor was full to the top and i did a slight drain out through the bottom petcock to make sure and then re topped it up.

all ok??

its an expansion bottle mate and should drain if it over fills.

p.s. did you send that lead mate? battery came today and works fine

yer i know its way too much fluid but its why theres that much fluid thats getting me!!

thanks

is your radiator still full to the top? If so I wouldn't worry about it, just expansion.

yer i know its way too much fluid but its why theres that much fluid thats getting me!!

thanks

theres no problem, thats why its called a expansion tank iff the water system completly cools it then draws back into rad much the same way why unopened jars of pickels are a bitch to open, the produce goes in hot (ie the rad water) then it cools drawing the lid down hard on the seal but in the cooling system it draws coolent back into the rad till it fills to the brim. ;) its hard to explain but i hope you get the piture.

or you,ve over filled it

front pass floor wet could be a heater matrix prob.i have just had the same with mine and it was the haeter matrix leaking inside the car. not a good job to replace it easily!

i did however think you ment the front pass floor inside the car was wet not outside the car

Knackerd rad cap possible mine overflowed changed to a hks cap now ok.There is a overflow hole in the bottle just where the neck plugs in .

nah my rad cap is mint. no probz there

mine did exactally the same but i flushed my system full of crap it was but at first it spat the odd bit of water out say litre or so but it seems ok now

You have proberbly been filling it up via that little pipe outlet to it under rad cap when you filled up the rad.Keep the expansion tank 1/4 full and should be alright, dip stick is shite to read so fine sandpaper it and it will be easier to read.
