Hi,

The car has always started at 1st turn of the key, until last weekend.

I hardly use it during the week, commute on my motorbike. So, Saturday morning last week, surprised when it wouldn' start. Put a battery pack on it and it started, reluctantly. So I cherged the battery and my Optimate charger showed the battery was good.

So, this morning I was surprised when it was reluctant, needed a bit of throttle to tickle it into life.

Does anyone have any experience of curing this symptom?. Must be simple (I may regret saying that). Still starts straight off when warm.

OOPS Sorry, thought I'd put this in Technical

any smoke when it starts? any smell of fuel? does the starter sound like its turning over lazily?

If it's fine when it's warm then my first idea would be the ECU temperature sensor. There are two sensor's at the front of the engine - one for the ECU and the other for the fan.

I'm sure someone on here will have a picture showing which is which (I can't remember - sorry).

Ideal would be to get someone else to come round and swap the sensors and see what happens. But they need to come to you so that your car is starting from dead cold.

P.S. I'm assuming you've already run ECU diagnostics - if not, try that first

Thanks. No. I haven't yet run ECU diag. It hasn't pissed me off that much yet.
