has anyone tried to fit one in a 300zx TT?, if so from what car did you source it from?

how do the ratios/performance compare?

Featured Replies

The obvious choice would appear to be from a 350. Dunno what the ratios are, but I think Lymon has done it and there is a bellhousing/adapter plate available.

Cuz the Zed has such long legs, when you rag it you only need 5th gear after 140mph i wonder what the benefits of a 6 speed box are.

In the 350 6th is effectively an overdrive and makes for very relaxed cruising at motorway speeds. Assuming other ratios match up, this would make for better fuel economy and potentially a higher top speed for heavily tuned cars, also assuming that the rev limit is raised a bit. It may also mean a nicer gearbox, although I find the gates to be very close together until you get used to it.

has anyone done this mod?

Yep..........http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=56149&highlight=350z+gearbox

And by all accounts it is a complete nightmare....... nothing fits, etc etc.
