It wouldn't be a bad thing to get it undersealed again, doesn't cost much and give some good rust-proofing to your vehicle.

definatly recommend doing this, my car is showing some rust on the drivers side rear wheel arch, so im going to have a night mare getting it repaired! Underseal is definatly a good idea.!

Yes mine is undersealed but i was not to sure if it was up to our weather conditions

will probably get on ramps at weekend and do again

get it steam cleaned under neath and do it very well, make sure you get everywhere mind. then get some underseal.

im doing mine shortly, when i do im taking the brakepipe under tray off blasting it and having it powdercoated and the underneath of the car black sealed again before a coat of waxoyl goes on.

Body schutz applied with a gun will give a much better finish than underseal in my opinion. :D

Yeah but it's underneath the car, who gives a damn how it looks, just as long as it's protected!

does anyone know any companies in the derby area, and an idea of cost, that can underseal my import, as its a pain in the arse and i don't have a garage or drive where i can work on the car.

I was reading about ACF50 in practical classics magazine and they really rated the stuff very highly, never actually used it myself though so cant comment personally.

Im looking into getting my car undersealed too.

I didnt think Jap Imports were undersealed as the Japs dont use salt for their roads. I was thinking of getting the thick 'wax oil', which you put on with a paint brush but there's no way you'd get into every crack and cranny. This stuff is used to protect the car from road salt and grit and protects from rust!

There is a spray available made by 'wax oil' for undersealing cars. Halfords do it, it costs approx £5.99. However, you must be careful not to spray rubber hoses etc as it will perish them after a while. I used this stuff on my last car. It is used to prevent rust and a like but not sure if it protects against road salt and grit. But any barrier between the salt, grit and the cars metal work is better than nothing!

With the 300zx, UK cars and imports both have identical underseal.

However with the cars being 12-16 years old now it would be worth getting it done again. When I bought my UK car I thought paying £40 or so (can't remember exactly) to replenish the underseal would be a sound investment.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
