Chris, with your Stage III Mods you cannot be serious? Are we gonna get it on with the Auto Vs. Manual challenge?

If I'm being dumb and this is the wrong answer to a question which hasn't been asked - oops, sorry.

 

In Aug 1999 I took my (bog standard) manual 1989 J spec to Millway Sport in Andover and their dyno said:

 

max 258 BHP at 6416 RPM at the rear wheels.

 

from the print-out, it looks alike max torque is at about 3,200 rpm.

F**k me, what mods you got on that red beasty. I've think I've seen you go up the mad mile last week, I think you were going up against a porsche Boxster.

Dear oh dear, those manuals are flat in the midrange aren't they. My auto has about 60bhp more than that at 4000rpm.

 

BTW, I have just converted the image to a JPG and mailed it to you.

That would be an interesting question, because yours doesn't have any more (power) mods than mine ! Dump valves won't make any difference. I reckon the only difference is that mine is only running about 11.5psi boost. That will be fixed soon though ...
