Bird what are your

0-60

times. Thats a pretty good indicator. Keep in mind the power delivery of a ZX is very smooth and it may not seem as fast as it is. Another good test is get it to about 50 or 60 then boot it and watch the world go by.

boot it in what gear? third?

yea,now open your mouth and pretend the spoons a fast jet, brrroooooooowusssssssssshhhhhhhh come on eat your brecky thats a good lad :D

come on birdy my son stop askin questions daft like

Thats quite reasonable for a twelve yr old car, running on normal boost. I'd imagine you can lose seconds through poor surfaces, wheel spin and all that so the whole 'my car is .5 second faster to sixty' is pretty irrellovent (sp?) in normal road driving.

Yep, second that - your car is probably fine.

Get a demon semi-pro driver and they'd probably shave 0.5 secs of that on a good surface.

A stopwatch and speedo isn't that accurate though.

I've never tried. Run it an Santa Pod though which has to be a good indicaor. Mine's not that fast as it's 2+2, auto, NA, targa!

To do an accurate 0-60 you need some sort of clever gadget or you could easily be 0.5 sec out or more with a stopwatch as could anyone doing it that way.

Even if you are a bit out, your time suggests your car is working fine though IMHO.

You know its really working when the skin gets stripped off your face and you end up in driving from the boot. There my taxi.

It will take a while for your ECU to settle down and stuff (ages if it's an auto) stick some Optimax ar Tesco Super and drive it hard it will sort sort it self out and and then you will know if it's quick or not. Mine is a NA AUTO and after a box change it was hard to leave a escort 1.6 :( but now it it leaves Scoobies I have shocked open mouth mates to prove this and a couple of scoobie owners.

Oh the car is a Little modded eerrrmm :p

I WANT IT BACK, DAMN BEUTY SHOP (it's getting new make-up)

You can also do 0-100, 60-100..etc or any tests you want.

Uses your speed sensor, and ofcourse is timed by computer. As soon as car moves(or reaches slower speed limit) it starts timing, and automatically stops when it reaches the upper limit.

If it's the Engine original ECU then I don't think it matters but if the AUTO BOX ECU still in circuit then how is it running and WTF??

On the Auto the Engine ECU and Gearbox ECU are to seperate units that have a nice little chat to each other to see what needs doing, as yours is a manual you are now the...well the Gearbox ECU (of sorts). LOL

But anyway as the ECU has been re-set you should have no problems.

Nice to hear that it's back on the road. :D
