Measuring wheel sizes

I’ve just measured my wheel width from the outside rim to outside rim, it comes up 10” dead, as the tyres are on this is the only way that I can measure, this brand (18” WOLFRACE, AsiaTec, TOKYO ) are either 9” or 10” so what is the width of my wheels 9” or 10”?

Also, both the front and back have the same size wheel, is this OK? (Tyres: fronts 235 x 40, rears 265 x 35)

Thanks

David

The width is the inside measurement between the rims and should be approx equal to the external distance between the tyre sidewalls. Must be a diagram somewhere ...

Both front and rear measured 10" dead, hooking a tape on the inside rim and measuring to the outside rim. The front 235s do look small on the wheels

Going by Andy's diagram, they are 18" x 9" back and front, as 10" is to the outside of the rim, I guess that the rims are 0.5" thick
