Ok peeps, iv decided that the auto box in my zed has ruined the 'fun' out of driving her. I have considered a manual conversion but thought if am to make a change i should spend the time and money to hunt for my 'perfect zed' :D

 

If any1 knows of a zed for sale at their local importers, garages, neighbours, friends etc etc that matches the following criteria please post here or pm me the details:

 

It must be: manual, tt and in pearl-white (so basically... FunkySi or Clarkey's car :bow: )

 

I will consider any condition as long as the price reflects its condition (tho no insurance write-offs), i am prepared to spend up to around 6k.

 

Any help in this hunt will be greatly appreciated. If any1 wants to make me an offer for my 93 uk tt auto 2+2, then feel free to see if u can tempt me!

Andys 300zx TT Manual SWB Slicktop is still for sale isnt it??

Personally I'd sell yours and buy a manual if you are fed up with the auto.

 

The conversion is around £1500 and once spent, it is dead money as you'll never get it back.

 

Take your time and hunt out the right TT manual.

i totally agree richard, as it stands i am in no hurry to get 1 so i can sift thru for the perfect catch.

I was originally planning on trading mines in with his as I seems like a good car. Paul from Edinburgh allowed me to have a little shot of his SWB slicktop. And honestly, it feels like an MR2 with the 3.0 V6 TT engine in it, but with more space inside. Its actually strange to go from a 2+2 auto to one of those.

idd gaz, its gonna have to be a minter to justify it :D im not ovally unhappy with it but after a blast in a manual the other day i realised what i was missing! so keep your eyes peeled gaz and lemme know if you see anything.

i know what you mean, im trying to decide between shift at will or to try and get a 6speed 350z box into my zed? Still "dead" money but at least it would be something different and a bit of an upgrade.

Joel, drive it through the gears instead of leaving it in D. If you break the box get a manual conversion!

still not the same martyn, iv found a real nice white one but its not pearl. considering it for an eventuall respray :confused:

surly the respray is kind of dead money in the same way as the auto/manual conversion. Especially when your car is nice and your happy with it, rather than getting a new zed that you dont know the history on?

though tbh the dead money doesnt bother me too much as i know anything i spend on it is gonna be dead money, but if i spent 2k on a manual conversion it would still be grey, whereas 2k on a resprayed white one would give me the 'perfect match'! as for the history of a new car, the 1 i looked at had a full service history the same as mine, uk spec, series 2, it was basically my car... in white with a manual box and nearly half the mileage. also the guy is friends with luke from the z centre so i feel an enthusiasts history in the car!

 

but anyway your right, il just wait for the right one to crop up, stick with mine for the time being. still waiting for the pm from FunkySi or Clarkey askin if i wanna buy theirs :bow:

If it is still for sale I recommend you have a look at the slicktop AndyZ has got for sale.

It's going for such a good price that you would have money left over for a respray and having driven it I can confirm that the handling is amazing...

idd, i have spoken to him and iv been going over that idea, trouble is the mrs doesnt like em without t-tops :( and tbh id kinda miss the t-tops myself. also, im a nob when it comes to buttons! my uk spec doesnt have electric folding mirrors so im missing a button on the centre console... dam i hate missing buttons. AndyZ's swb doesnt have heated seats + cruise control... not sure what the looms are like for cars without these options and how easy they would be to install.
