You would be better off replacing the rod, cos it is a bugger of a job if you haven't got the tools to do it.

My work engineers at work pressed my old ones out with a 10 ton press. And pressed new powerflex ones in .now i changed the tensoin rods to rose jointed ARC rods.Loads better.

I pressed my S13 ones in using a jack against the chassis rail :D

And burnt/drilled/scraped/chiselled the old ones out. Took about 2/3 hours in total but thoroughly satisifying :D

i think ive got some tension rods wiyh good bushes in my garage ,will look later.

I remember doing these now, they right pain in arse. ended up drilling them out bit by bit. the garage at top of road would press the new ones in incase they split them so had to do it myself with vice. so you can do but wouldn't recommend it.

Find a nice bloke with a press as they are a bit of a pig, you might look at the track control arm bushes as well while your at it, two birds one stone and all that.
