Hi All,

Quick question, I've got a can of paint to touch up some of the lower front spoiler scratches and stuff. But after i paint it, it looks matt and not glossy like the rest of the car... what do i need to do to get the glossy effect?

Thanks.

Snx.

Take it to a body shop TBH it's less hassle than trying to do it yourself and actually not that expensive, failing that use lacquer and then buff it up.

If the paint you are using is metallic then theres a good chance its "Clear over Base" paint. Go to halfords and but a can of Clear Gloss Laquer (acrylic). Wait for the base coat to dry (two or Three hours) then apply it over the top of the other paint. after say a week give the whole area a T Cut and it should look OK. be careful not to cover too much area around the job. And its sometimes best to get some 1200 grade wet and dry paper and give the job a quick rubdown between each coat of the gloss.
