Reluctance to boost, after being stopped

My auto zed (nearly) always seems reluctant to boost after it has been stopped! The needle on the stock boost guage seems to stick just after the 0 and the car won't rev over about 2000 rev's but forcing the rev's in 1st and then it work fine so it's little more than annoying but would like to stop it happenning.

Anyone got any ideas as to the problem?

i guess not then

do a ecu check & see what code you get, you could possibly be in safety boost

Cheers! Comes up 55, I do keep thinking safety boost, in fact i would be very happy if that's the case cos it means more power/fun to come! I'm trying a resistor across the det sensor tomorrow, does anyone know whether it should be put across the male or female terminals of the det sensor connector?

Hope you are not having the same problem as me. I think my OS turbo has siezed. That shows as 0 boost.

Possibly your problem is MAF related and the engine is defaulting to "get home" mode where it limits to something like 2300 rpm. In that case you would never develop boost. Check the connector to the MAF.

It sounds MAF related to me.

Safety mode/boost will not cause the problems you have described.

Cheers. I'll check out some MAF related threads and have a look on the weekend, would be nice to get it sorted out, it's normally (though not always) OK from cold start! "Get home mode", maybe she just reads my mind as it normally happens on my way to aork in the morning :D

Put a new s/s centre pipe on today as the old one was blowing badly, and it seems to have solved the problem suprisingly! Though I'm sure the ECU will realise in time and recreate the problem! :-|
