Driving round a roundabout a couple of hours ago, roundabout was icy which caused my Zed to slid into the kerb! unfortunatly I was trying to steer which means my Left front wheel hit the kerb "face on"! I got out to find my wheel back and under the wheel arch by about six inches!

After speaking to Craig it looks like I may need to replace the lower suspension on that side. And after Zed was loaded on the Recovery truck I saw the anti roll bar had snapped and that the wheel had hit the wing causing the wing to be slightly out of shape. One good thing though, my fibreglass front got away with scrapes and cracks.

I'll take some pics after I get the wheel off this weekend(what a way to spend my birthday) and hope that my insurance co will cover it.

Well I'm off to sob some more...

Sorry to hear about that Trev, at least you got out of it unscathed.

Good luck with the insurance/repairs.

Dave

unlucky sorry to hear about it , guess now is the time to do the real deal suspension mods hehe

Sorry to hear that Trev.

Damn there's not much you can do once these beasts run into a slide, especially on ice.

I would recommend the suspension techniques anti roll bar in place of a stock replacement.

Cant deny Warrens logic!

wheres the best place to get prices Steve?

Ta,

Trev

Trev,

Hard luck man, Glad you weren't hurt, As Steve sez, once these things go bye bye, they aint coming back in hurry.

I would check the whole rear end when ya get the fella up in the air, These rear axel collisions tend to bump the rear rack a little more than it likes to be.

This also might be a nice time to replace the Rear Sub frame bushes as if your car is gettin old these will start to leak, Get some Nice Nismo Ones, or Alu ones from Rowan at Sonic MS.

Got Rice? Has good prices on Suspension components, Shoot him a mail from the Memmbers section in tt.net.

Good luck, hope everythings works out and you get her back stronger than ever.

Nico, Trev banged the front mate, not the back.. :P

i was online to gotrice last night, and got these prices for you :-

sway bars (anti roll bars) $270 for pair (front and back)

front upper arms $439

rear $409

forgot the price for front tension rods, sorry

They are all Stillen units.

UPS shipping $157

Steve, shortshift $269 ? is that right ?

Thanks for the posts lads,

My insurance excess is £500 I'm wondering if I can get it all done for less via places like the Z center.

If I can replace the main parts with second hand units then uprate the bushes and go for a roll bar kit from GotRice?.

I only hope is that the main crossmember that the lower suspension arm attaches to is not damaged!

Ouch, at least you are okay.

If you uprate your suspension I can vouch for Steve and Craigs shocks/springs, very nice. Just watch those speed bumps!

In considering your excess cost, also find out how much more you'd have to pay over the next couple of years if you don't have no-claims protection.

Sorry to hear about that, glad you are ok just get it fixed the weather is soon to get better (no more ice).

Happy birthday it sods law for that to happen now.
